They were beautiful and animate fantastically if you don't put any clothes on them. However, I can report that characters with geografted body parts can be made to work splendidly in iClone: I tested Minotaur HD 6 and another user tested Lekkulions for me. And I believe if you don't spring for the $500 pipeline version, you can't save your work except into an iClone scene, and if you have problems you may have to start the whole process over.
I'm surprised they charge money for 3DXchange, because it only imports via FBX, which gives you a low-quality mesh, and then you have to do a lot of work fixing bugs and adding all the textures and stuff that didn't get imported.
